Luigi Cabella began racing in 1959 in a Fiat 500; in 1961, driving for the Jolly Club, he became Italian Circuit Champion and finished 2nd overall in the Hillclimb Championship in a Fiat 1100TV. In 1963, he officially joined the Lancia team and finished 1st in his class at the Acropolis Rally and 1st in his class at the 12 Hours of the Nürburgring.

In 1963, he won the European Speed Championship in a Flaminia Coupé Pininfarina.

He finished 1st at Zandvoort, 1st at the Budapest Grand Prix, 2nd at Mont Ventoux, 2nd at Timmerciok, 2nd at the 6 Hours of the Nürburgring, and 2nd at Brands Hatch.

In 1964, he finished 2nd overall at the 12 Hours of Brasília, 3rd overall at the 3 Hours of Rio de Janeiro in an Abarth 2000 Sport, and retired from the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps due to a serious accident involving Frescobaldi.

In 1967, he was Italian Champion in the Fulvia HF 1300, finishing 1st at Mugello and securing several hill climb victories. In 1969, he finished 1st at the 1,000 km of Monza in a Fulvia Zagato; in 1970, he became Italian Champion in his class in an Alfa Romeo GTA 1600, finishing 1st at the 1,000 km of Monza. 1971 began with a 3rd-place overall finish at the Targa Florio in a Porsche 2000 R, followed by victories in several hillclimb races.

In 1972, he finished 2nd at the Targa Florio, again in a Porsche. In 1988, he took 1st place overall at the Coppa delle Alpi in a Fiat 1100TV and 2nd place overall at the Monte Carlo-Sestriere “vintage car” race in a Lancia Fulvia Zagato.

The Flavia Competition International Register was established in 2023 to record all Flavias that have competed in international championships and classic rallies.

Our cars are divided into four categories

Factory-spec Flavias prepared by Lancia HF Squadra Corse

Group B

GROUP B

Flavias prepared in the 1960s by official preparers such as Bosato, for private clubs or independent drivers

Group C

GROUP C

Competition Flavias prepared by official manufacturers such as Pininfarina

Group D

GROUP D

Competition Flavias that raced as independents and with private drivers
